One shared file, visible participation
Collaborate Live keeps the working source open and versionable while people edit together. Connected presence shows who is in the file. Labeled remote cursors and selections show where other participants are working. Comments and suggestions keep discussion and proposed changes next to the document.

Join from the surface that fits the work
Participants can work in the same live file from the web app, VS Code, macOS, and iOS where the collaboration control is available. The interfaces and exact controls differ by surface. GPDoc does not present every client as an identical editor.
One shared document keeps each participant's current work visible:
- A writer editing a section in the web app.
- A reviewer selecting a sentence from VS Code.
- A teammate reading and commenting from macOS or iOS.
- Named participants with distinct cursor colors and current connection state.

Keep review close to the source
Use anchored comments for questions and discussion. Use suggestions for proposed additions, deletions, or replacements. The accepted content remains open Markdown, while review metadata records who proposed or discussed the change.
Recover a safe version
Version history adds automatic or named checkpoints around the live workflow. Reviewers can preview an earlier checkpoint and use safe restore when authorized. GPDoc creates a pre-restore checkpoint before applying the selected version.
Collaboration boundary
Live collaboration covers verified simultaneous editing, presence, labeled cursors or selections, comments, suggestions, roles, and review state on supported surfaces. It does not promise identical controls, offline collaboration, or complete parity across every client.
Continue the evaluation
Read Live collaboration across devices for the cross-surface workflow, or start building in GPDoc when the next step is to open the product.
